Ceiling Cleaning

“Ceiling cleaning” is a generic term and can encompass several different methods to achieve a clean ceiling. One method is to use chemical cleaners, this method is not always achieved due to each ceiling tile absorbing the ceiling cleaning chemical at different rates i.e. like a sponge, which then give a separate clean per acoustic tile, some look better than others this is called the “checkerboard effect”. The preferred way to achieve the best results is to first apply the chemical cleaner, followed by a spray application of PRC007 ProCoat acoustical ceiling restoration coating to give a consistent finish across the entire ceiling. Both these ceiling cleaning methods are inexpensive but only one method will guarantee success i.e. like a new tile finish. Once the ceiling cleaning CeilCote process has been applied the new look ceiling will last as long or longer than a new tile, approximately 8 years.

Ceiling cleaning for metal ceilings requires the metal ceiling tiles to be cleaned. With metal ceilings which have perforations, care must be given not apply to much cleaner as the excess will seep through the perforations. Flat metal pan tiles are easier as the cleaner can be easily removed from the surface. Cleaning the metal tiles by chemical clean only can achieve a favorable result. Metal ceilings are non-porous, but over a period of time metal ceiling can absorb stain and if and when this happens the only method to guarantee a consistent finish is to have the mental ceilings cleaned and sprayed with STC009 SteelCoat mental ceiling restoration coating.

The UK market leaders CeilCote achieve a consistent ceiling finish using both chemical and ceiling restoration coatings. Architects and surveyors specify the “CeilCote process” for all types of ceiling cleaning throughout the UK for the last 20 years.
